We regret to announce that we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel all events at our parks and places including Cressing Temple Barns until end July 2020, including all third party run events, in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health threat and the government’s national guidance around gatherings and social distancing.

The Explore Essex teams have been busy creating some virtual activities, tips and tours. We're pleased to launch our virtual events and advice below.

Park Ranger Tips

Our Essex Country Park rangers are pulling together some tips on how you can attract wildlife to your garden and what to look out for when you are out on your daily exercise.

The first piece from Belhus Woods Ranger Laura Howles is on how to make your garden more hedgehog friendly. Read more here.

The second piece from Tom Heenan and Laura Howles on how to attract insects to your garden can be explored here.

Sounds of Silence

We are working with the Essex Record Office to encourage Essex residents to stop, listen and record the sounds around them to capture this historic moment in time. Find out more in the virtual event listing below.

Spring at Cressing Temple Barns

Take a virtual tour of the historic gardens at Cressing Temple Barns and explore handy seasonal tips from Head Gardener Rebecca here.
