Our parks and places
Because of the great work and dedication of all of our staff, we're pleased to announce that the Essex Country Parks, Cressing Temple Barns, Essex Record Office and Jaywick Martello Tower have all been granted the ‘We’re Good To Go’ marque. This means they’ve completed a COVID-19 risk assessment and confirms that all the above parks and places have met, and are adhering to, government and public health advice and legislation - so you can have an enjoyable and safe experience when visiting.

Discover some of the best parks and places for a great family day out in Essex. The mix of open spaces, kid's play areas, lakes and woodland in the Essex Country Parks provide the perfect spaces to walk, run and play whatever your age!
We've pulled together some top tips on how to visit safely and sensibly, including follow current government guidance at all times.
From 29 March more rules are changing:
You will be able to meet outdoors either in a group of 6 (from any number of households), or in a group of any size from up to 2 households (each household can include existing support bubbles, if eligible).
Do keep a 2-metre distance from others
Do use the cashless parking payment option where possible to reduce contact with the payment machines.
Do wear a face mask when using any indoor facilities, such as the toilets and cafes.
Do use hand sanitiser before and after using the children’s playground equipment.
Do leave plenty of time to exit the car park before the closing time (dusk).
Do be mindful of the time you visit the parks – our busiest times are between 11am-1.30pm.
Do keep your dogs under control and always clean up after them.
Do check our FAQs page to plan your visit.
Don’t park on verges, public highways or park outside of designated parking spaces.
Don’t leave rubbish behind – help us keep the parks clean for everyone.
