Essex Country Parks Summer Book Hunt
Join us for the Essex Country Parks Summer Book Hunt this August!
Let's all go on a Book Hunt!
Take a walk in our Essex Country Parks and see if you can find one of our hidden 'books in a park'.
Our book packs will regularly be put out in the participating parks for visitors to ‘find’ each day. Each pack will contain a book with a nature theme to tie-in with the environment and the Wild World Heroes Summer Reading Challenge at the Essex Libraries, with some of the packs featuring books from the suggested reading list.
Books being given away for free in the packs include: the Stick Man and The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler, The Magic Ocean Slide by Emma Beswetherick, Weed by Quentin Blake, and The Dog that Saved the World by Ross Welford.
The Book Hunt will be taking place at the following parks:
Great Notley Country Park
Hadleigh Country Park
If you find a book, don't forget to send us your photos! #BookInAPark #LookForABook
Whilst you're at our parks, why not check out our Bugs and Butterflies summer trail.
Please note: Packs at Weald, Thorndon, Belhus and Great Notley contain one free Summer Trail! (Packs at Thorndon contain a trail for Weald.)
