Join Canvey Island Town Council, Canvey Community Archive, Essex Record Office, Canvey Library and Environment Agency to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Great Flood
Join Canvey Town Council along with Canvey Community Archive, Essex Record Office, Canvey Library and Environment Agency to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the 1953 Flood.
This important milestone will be remembered with a public plaque unveiling, as well as a interactive exhibition both inside and outside of Canvey library. This is a chance to remember and learn about how this significant event has shaped Canvey’s history.
There will also be a drop in event for residents at the Canvey Town Council Offices, with the chance to meet representatives from the Environment Agency and Lead Local Flood Authority, who will be providing information about current local flooding issues.
This drop in event will also run on Thursday 2nd February between 10am and 3pm.
