Heritage Open Days 2023, running from Friday 8 to Sunday 17 September, brings an opportunity to explore some of the marvellous mills across Essex.
Steeped in history and offering a fascinating glimpse into the past, take advantage of the open days to find out more.
The historic Alderford Watermill opens to visitors on Sunday 10 September, and is complete with original machinery and restored working water wheel.
Grade II-listed Finchingfield Post Mill is the oldest windmill in Essex and opens Sunday 17 September.
You may also be interested in Beeleigh Steam Mill, Mountnessing Post Mill and the popular five-storey Grade II listed Stock Tower Mill.
