Maria Medlycott uncovers the archaeology of medieval farms and fields in Essex.
This talk will discuss what the archaeological record can tell us about the Essex medieval landscape, looking at farms, fields, lanes and greens, woodlands and marshes.
It will use examples from the many excavations and surveys undertaken in the county, and how individually and collectively they help build up a picture of a busy, occupied countryside.
