Willow Workshop: Plant supports with Jo Hammond
Make banded or spiral-weave plant supports for your garden in natural English willow.
These lovely willow pieces are quick to make and so effective in the garden – as plant supports or sculptural decorations. Each design introduces different weaving skills all demonstrated in easy stages, step by step.
You’ll learn to select stakes and weavers, how to perform a randing or a spiral weave, and how to trim and finish your work. Expect to make two plant climbers in the day.
Note: Willow weaving is moderately hard work and does require a firm grip.
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided. Please either bring a packed lunch or visit the on-site Tiptree Tearoom.
The ticket price includes all materials and any necessary tools will be provided. This workshop is only suitable for over 18s.
