Place Services: Introduction to Lithics and Flint Identification
This course is an introduction to lithics in archaeology, providing an overview of the methods and approaches to identification and analysis.
It will explore the key attributes of worked flint, changing technologies used to knap flint, and lithics’ context within archaeological practice. Local sites and examples within Essex will also be showcased.
The course will be led by Adam Wightman, Director of Archaeology at the Colchester Archaeological Trust. Anyone with an interest in archaeology is welcome.
