One Day Willow Bird Sculpture course with Jo Hammond
Join experienced tutor Jo Hammond for this workshop at Cressing Temple Barns.
Join experienced tutor Jo Hammond for this workshop where you’ll learn to weave natural brown willow into sculptural forms starting with a firm framework, then a covering of sinuous ‘freeweave’.
As your piece takes shape with legs, head and tail, you can choose whether to make it into a charming hen, pheasant, goose or duck.
Weave supple willow twigs into a lovely bird sculpture, perfect to display in the garden.
No experience needed- you’ll work step-by step with clear demonstrations for each stage.
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided. Please either bring a packed lunch or visit the on-site Tiptree Tearoom.
The ticket price includes all materials and any necessary tools will be provided. This workshop is only suitable for over-18s.
Please note: Willow weaving is moderately hard work, and requires a firm grip.
