Jaywick Martello Tower Exhibition: Signals - 'Peoples of Essex'

Signals presents the ‘Peoples of Essex’ Exhibition at Jaywick Martello Tower.

This family friendly exhibition is about the history of the people of Essex from early humans to the present-day including Romans, the Dutch Weavers and the Windrush generation. The exhibition includes craft activities, interactive elements, short films and animated timelines.

The exhibition is the result of a three-year project the ‘Peoples of Essex’ project that explored the history of North Essex (Colchester and Tendring) looking at the different people who settled here, what skills and technology they brought with them and how they helped shape Essex

During the project Signals ran 120 workshops for over 1,600 people who learned about animation, textile making and local history.

Signals supports creativity and digital skills development. This project was made possible with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the free exhibition workshops are funded by the Essex Community Foundation.

*Please note, Jaywick Martello Tower will be open 10.00am to 4.00pm daily during this exhibition*
