Join Adrian Wright for this talk at Jaywick Martello Tower about the start of the railways to celebrate 200 years since its inception.

When the Stockton and Darlington Railway opened in September 1825 it was the World's first inter-urban line for goods and passengers.

This illustrated presentation looks at many people and ideas over a long time period which culminated in that momentous event.
